Forest:
Tropical rainforests are very wet places, receiving heavy rainfall either seasonally or throughout the year. They are close to the equator and get lots of sunlight and warmth. They are havens for millions of plants and animals.
Tropical rainforests have more kinds of trees than any other forests in the world.
Huge numbers of animals live in rainforests, including microscopic animals, invertebrates, fish, reptiles, amphibians, birds and mammals.
Tundra:
The Tundra is a biome where the tree growth is hindered by low temperatures and short growing seasons.The meaning of the word Tundra is treesless plain.The Tundra is covered in marshes, lakes, bogs and streams during the warm months.
Only 1,700 species of vascular plants can be found there.
Only 48 land mammals can be found, although thousands of insects and birds migrate there each year. There are also a few fish species such as the flatfish. There are few species with large populations. Notable animals in the Arctic tundra include caribou, musk ox, arctic hare, arctic fox, snowy owl, lemmings, and polar bears.
