The Arctic Tundra is located in the far Northern Hemisphere, north of the taiga belt which cannot grow trees.It has two seasons: winter and summer. In winter the temperature can go as extreme as -70°C. It's average temperature can be around −28 °C. There are about 1700 types of plants living in the Arctic Tundra. There are 48 land animals that make Arctic Tundra their home, but sadly there are no reptiles and amphibians. Some of the animals include reindeer, musk-ox and many others.
Alpine Tundra are normally at an altidude of about 10,000 feet or more. They cannot contain trees as it has high altidude. Very few animals live at Alpine Tundra.Some of the animals that live in Alpine Tundra are yellow bellied marmots, pikas and ptarmagins. They have unique adaptions to live in the Alpine Tundra. There are only about 200 types of plants living in the Alpine Tundra.One of them is the cushion plants.They look like flattened cushions hugging the ground.
